Omkar Ratneshwar Mahadev Temple

Omkar Ratneshwar Mahadev temple in Chopta, Uttarakhand, is one of the most peaceful Shiva temples in the region. The temple is located in Sari Village, where most of the travelers stay using their Chardham Tour Packages, so it’s easily accessible. Like all other popular Shiva Temples in the region, like Kedarnath and Tungnath, this temple’s architecture also resembles that of others. The temple structure, built in the traditional Nagara style, features big stone carvings.

As this is the only temple within a few kilometers, the temple becomes particularly lively during Mahashivratri when devotees from nearby villages gather here for celebrations. The morning aarti, with the sun rising behind the mountains, is when you can visit the temple to experience the local way of worshiping.

Timings & Entry Fees of Omkar Ratneshwar Mahadev Temple:

1. Temple Timings: 5 am to 12 pm and 4 pm to 9 pm. There’s no particular timing, but locals come for the morning aarti at around 6 am, and for the evening aarti at 7 pm.
