About Kaziranga National Park

Kaziranga National Park, located in Assam, India, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most iconic wildlife reserves in Asia. Renowned for being home to the world’s largest population of the one-horned rhinoceros, Kaziranga offers a spectacular blend of biodiversity and scenic beauty. Spanning across the floodplains of the Brahmaputra River, the park’s landscape is made up of tall elephant grass, marshlands, and dense tropical forests teeming with wildlife.


Kaziranga National Park is an essential part of many Indian wildlife, Assam, and North East tour packages, attracting nature lovers, photographers, and adventure seekers from around the world. About Tickets/Entry Fees

Entry fees for Kaziranga National Park are ₹100 per person, plus additional costs for other activities like a Jeep safari (₹4200-₹5500 per jeep), an elephant safari (₹1200-₹1500 per person), or a river cruise (₹1000 per trip). The park is typically open from November to April.

Essential Information

  • The best time to visit Kaziranga is from November to April, as the park remains closed during the monsoon season (May to October).
  • It is located about 200 km from Guwahati, and can be reached by road in approximately 5–6 hours.
  • Safaris are conducted in four main zones: Central, Western, Eastern, and Burapahar Range.
  • Carry binoculars, hats, and light clothing; mornings can be chilly during winter.
  • Accommodations range from forest lodges to luxury resorts near the park gates.
