About Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia

Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia (IAMM) is the largest museum of Islamic art in Southeast Asia. Established in 1998, the museum is home to over 7,000 artefacts, ranging from exquisite calligraphy, textiles, ceramics, and jewellery to detailed models of Islamic architecture from around the world. Its mission is to preserve and promote the rich artistic heritage of Islamic civilisations.

For travellers exploring Malaysia tour packages, IAMM offers a unique cultural experience, providing insights into the golden age of Islamic art and its global influence. The museum’s 12 permanent galleries are thoughtfully curated, featuring exhibits from Persia, the Middle East, India, China, and Southeast Asia. One of its highlights is the magnificent domed ceiling, an architectural masterpiece inspired by Islamic designs. With interactive displays, guided tours, and a specialised children’s gallery, IAMM is a fascinating destination for visitors of all ages.
