Chardham Lake or Satopanth Lake is a sacred body of water situated at the base of the 7,138-meter Chaukhamba massif in Uttarakhand. Located near the pilgrimage town of Badrinath, it lies just beyond Mana, the last village before the Indo-China border. This triangular lake, with its clear green waters, spans a perimeter of one kilometer and sits at an altitude of 4350 meters.
Revered as a holy site, it is said that the three corners of the lake were once graced by the meditations of the divine trio—Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh (Shiva) are thought to continue their cosmic influence from this sacred spot, charting the course of the universe itself. It’s also gaining popularity among those exploring Chardham Yatra packages, since Badrinath is the starting point of the trek.
