About Brahmaputra River

The Brahmaputra River, one of Asia’s mightiest rivers, flows majestically through Assam, shaping its landscape, culture, and livelihood. Originating from the glaciers of Tibet, where it is known as the Yarlung Tsangpo, the river enters India through Arunachal Pradesh and meanders across Assam before merging with the Ganges in Bangladesh.

Included in several North East India tour packages, a cruise along the Brahmaputra River offers an unforgettable experience, passing through lush tea gardens, wildlife-rich islands like Majuli, and vibrant riverside villages. From dolphin spotting to temple visits, every moment on the Brahmaputra feels timeless and deeply rooted in Assamese culture.

About Tickets/Entry Fees:

There is no entry fee to visit the Brahmaputra River itself. However, Brahmaputra cruises, ferry rides, or boat safaris usually cost between ₹500 and ₹2,000 per person, depending on duration and facilities.
