About Sikandra Fort

Sikandra Fort, located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, is the grand mausoleum of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Built in the early 17th century, the fort is an architectural masterpiece that blends Islamic, Hindu, Christian, Jain, and Buddhist motifs, reflecting Akbar's inclusive vision. Surrounded by lush gardens and enclosed by high walls, the red sandstone structure features intricate marble inlay work and stunning geometric designs. The entrance gateway, Buland Darwaza, adds to its majestic appeal. Sikandra Fort is not only a significant historical monument but also a serene retreat that offers insight into the grandeur and cultural depth of the Mughal Empire.
