About Pashupatinath Temple

Pashupatinath Temple is the holiest temple in Nepal, located on the banks of the Bagmati River in Kathmandu. This ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.There’s a super cool incident of this temple that how it survived the massive 2015 earthquake that shook Nepal to its core. While many buildings crumbled, Pashupatinath Temple stood unharmed, which many believed was divine protection. The temple’s unique architecture with its gold-plated roof and silver doorways makes it photography perfect. The temple’s four main doors are made of solid silver and weigh over 100 kilos each!


Hindu visitors can enter the main temple area. But don’t worry! The temple complex is huge, and everyone can explore its beautiful surroundings.   3. Entry Fee: NPR 1000 (INR 625) for foreigners, free for Indians
  4. Best Time to Visit: Evening aarti (6:00 pm)

Note: Visiting the temple requires 40-50 minutes of waking/hiking (5km)
