The Shri Chamundeshwari Devi Temple, located on Chamundi Hill near Mysuru, Karnataka, is a revered Hindu shrine dedicated to Goddess Chamundeshwari, an incarnation of Durga. Perched at an altitude of 1,000 meters, the temple offers panoramic views of Mysuru city. It features a grand seven-tiered gopuram (entrance tower) and intricate carvings that reflect Dravidian architecture. The goddess is worshipped as the fierce protector who vanquished the demon Mahishasura, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. A large statue of Mahishasura stands nearby. The temple attracts thousands of devotees, especially during Navratri and Dussehra festivals, and is a major spiritual landmark.
