Kyichu Lhakhang, located in the Paro Valley, is one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan. Originally built in the 7th century by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo, it is believed to be one of 108 temples constructed to subdue a demoness across the Himalayas. The temple’s serene setting and spiritual energy attract pilgrims and visitors alike. Over the centuries, it has been restored and expanded by various Bhutanese rulers. With its beautiful prayer wheels, ancient murals, and a peaceful courtyard, Kyichu Lhakhang offers a glimpse into Bhutan’s deep-rooted Buddhist heritage and continues to be a revered spiritual site.

This was my first international trip and Bhutan turned out to be the perfect destination. The itinerary was well-balanced with nature and culture. There were some concerns about permits on day one, but the on-ground support team stepped in and sorted it efficiently. Really appreciate how Viacation took care of every little detail.
