The Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), established in 1964 and inaugurated in 1965 by President Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, is a premier research institution located in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Housed in the historic Viceregal Lodge, the former residence of British Viceroy Lord Dufferin, the institute offers a serene environment for advanced research in humanities, social sciences, and Indian culture. Visitors can explore the institute's architectural grandeur and its rich historical significance. The building is open to the public from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with guided tours available. Entry fees are ₹30 for Indian nationals and ₹65 for foreign visitors.
