About Chapman's Peak

Chapman's Peak is a breathtaking coastal drive and scenic viewpoint located along the Atlantic coast near Cape Town, South Africa. Carved into the rugged mountainside between Hout Bay and Noordhoek, the road winds through 114 curves over 9 kilometers, offering dramatic views of cliffs, ocean, and beaches. Completed in 1922, it is considered one of the world’s most spectacular marine drives. Chapman's Peak is popular for road trips, photography, cycling, and watching the sunset. It's also a gateway to hiking trails and picnic spots. The route forms part of many major sporting events and remains a must-visit for nature lovers.
